If your pet needs surgery, Southside Animal Hospital’s skill veterinarians can provide your dog or cat with common surgical procedures, such as spaying and neutering, to more complex soft-tissue surgery such as foreign object removal.
We will treat your pet as if our own while in our care. Our staff of compassionate, caring professionals will monitor your pet before, during, and after surgery and take exceptional care to ensure your pet's safe and complete recovery.
Prior to surgery, we will also address any questions or concerns you may have about anesthesia, pain management or postoperative care.
When your pet is ready to go home, we will review your postoperative care and medication instructions. If any questions arise after your pet returns home or during the postoperative period, call us. We welcome your questions and will do all we can to help your pet recover fully. Help is only a phone call away.
At Southside Animal Hospital, our veterinarians perform surgeries on pets for:
Your pet will receive pre-anesthetic tests to carefully screen if healthy for anesthesia and we tailor our anesthetic protocol specifically for your pet. Our trained staff monitors your pet’s blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and respiratory rate before, during and after anesthesia.
We take time to answer any questions or address any concerns you have about the medications, monitoring and care your pet will receive. We use a multimodal approach to anesthesia, meaning your pet may receive different types of medications depending upon the procedure, such as local anesthetics to numb a particular area, anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce swelling and pain medications similar to what is used in human hospitals.
